Rollin' Eggs & A Trip To The ER

The kids were out of school on Monday... Ricardo was on call for work this past weekend, so even though we got a lot accomplished we weren't able to go out of town for Easter egg rollin'. (An activity I never even knew existed until marriage.) So we headed south for beautiful weather and a trip to Costco. Costco and I have a love/hate relationship, but they keep sending us coupons for great deals so we've been twice in the past two weeks and we're talking $300 a pop. Back to the story....

A trip to the ER you might ask. For those of you who know our sweet Potato you may be thinking.....ER/Potato...like peanut butter/jelly....salt and pepper....you get the idea...but you'll have to wait until the end of this post to see what really happened.
I wish my feet were cuter. There was no way we could walk in the sand without filling our shoes. So off they came. The sand was so soft and luckily there weren't many sticks, but there were a lot of cow pies and stink bugs. (those darn stink bugs send D screaming for his life...sad, but true.)

Ricardo KNEW I would take this shot. I would NEVER blog my rear end, but his is just so irresistable. Sorry Honey.

Here we go...the sand was so soft we couldn't keep the trails we'd made from filling up again and again. Plus none of the children could remember NOT to run down the hill in the middle of those trails.

After a while the camera battery was dead and our teeth were really gritty, so we headed back out to get to Costco before it closed. When we were almost to the main road we met up with an older couple on a four wheeler. Boy were they going slow. We were in a hurry, but followed them for a little bit until they let us by. The poor woman on the back of the four wheeler looked like she was in pain. So as we pulled over to let another truck pass the couple on the four wheeler stopped us and asked for help.

Come to find out their four wheeler had fallen on them as they were climbing a hill on the sand dunes. Luckily they had some help getting the four wheeler right side up again and they had been riding for two hours to get back to their vehicle. He could only go SLOW because she was in so much pain. And she had shortness of breath. He asked if we could take her to the hospital, since they were from Wyoming and didn't even know where it was. I was a little nervous, but my sweet dear hubby is always helping people, so we got her in the truck. We gave her husband directions and off we went. She was able to talk to us and she still had her sense of humor, so I hoped she wouldn't take her last breath in our vehicle. We got to the ER, put her in a wheelchair and we stayed with her until her husband got there. Her pulseox was 96 so at least she was getting oxygen....So we did our good deed for the day, made it to Costco before they closed and were able to eat dinner at 8:45 inside Costco as they turned out the lights to signal it was time to leave. Nice, dinner at 9...what a Mom. But we did have an excuse. Aren't you glad it wasn't more stitches for Potato?
